Food Review: Xin Lu Fishball Noodles

This is a post-dated review, back when I was still with my previous company at Ayer Rajah. One of the newer colleagues got bored with food around our office and suggested to go Mei Chin Street for lunch. On the way there, I sussed out what is good there… answers were the fishball noodles (or kway teow tng) and lor mee. I don’t eat lor mee, so the choice was evident!

Silky smooth kway teow and fragrant chilli... fishball not bad, but nothing very fantastic too

I settled for dry chilli kway teow and it was very good! The kway teow was not overcooked, and smooth. The chilli was piquant but not too spicy. The fried shallots sprinkled on top added the X-factor. Fishballs were big and bouncy, not fishy, but it wasn’t very fantastic IMO. Comparable to my favourite noodle stall in CCK Blk 302 coffeeshop.

They sell out very fast though, so be sure to be there early, or lose out!
