One of our lunch kakis has recently left the company, and it’s kinda a Singapore tradition to treat the leaving colleague to lunch. We were quite limited in options since we were located in an industrial area, and not many cars among us, so we needed a lunch place near to office. Another colleague suggested for us to go to Le Gourmet near our office.
I was a little skeptical in the beginning, but the food (& price!) soon won me over. I had the lunch set which consisted of a soup of the day, and a choice of chicken, fish or pasta, at only $9.90 nett. Super worth it.
The soup of the day was cream of mushroom. Pretty tasty and full of chunky mushroom. Definitely didn’t come out of a can.
My colleague ordered the ala carte portobello pasta (I think it was $12.90). Looks good right?
They also ordered a Vietnamese spring roll to share, but does this look like Vietnamese spring roll to you? Nevertheless, it was still quite good. Freshly fried, and still crispy after 15 minutes of passing it around.
I chose the (bacon aglio olio) pasta dish for my set lunch while my other colleague got the grilled chicken. Both portions were huge and filling! A lot of ingredients for my pasta too.
